Adoption Process
We announce the birth of the puppies when they are one week old. We do this so we can give our full attention to the newborns and their mom’s.
Each puppy will wear an identification collar of a particular colour because most of our litters are born with red or dark apricot colours. These collars go home with your puppy as a keep sake. We check these collars regularly to assure room for Carefully chosen families choose their puppy at 7 weeks of age. We do this by utilizing an app called WhatsApp or Face Time for the convenience of those living on the mainland and because my husband has a compromised immune system due to chemotherapy. This gives each family an individual opportunity to choose their puppy from a live video stream right from your living room where everyone will meet me and the available puppies. The choosing day usually takes place on a Saturday around 10:00 am. To prevent over handling of larger litters, we provide two choosing opportunities on the following Sunday. Or the first group of families will choose their puppy in the morning. The second group will choose in the afternoon. First choice is given to those who provided us with a deposit first and so on.
A selection of items including a litter box and metal grate is included in our Puppy Pack when you come to our home to pick up your adopted puppy.
