Why adopt a cavapoo image
Since 2019 we have decided to offer cavapoo puppies to loving families.  Cavalier King Charles are the most gentle affectionate breed of dog we have ever had the pleasure of owning.  These dogs seem to be able to look right into your very soul.  We also found out that this breed rarely barks.  What a wonderful feeling of joy and love we receive from these wonderful full of love and trust creatures.

My daughter was an anxiety sufferer. One particular dog picked up on her condition and instinctively figured out what it was she needed to be calmed.

One very special 3/4 poodle and 1/4 cavalier little girl will sit with me for hours. I suffered a Hemorrhagic stroke 2 and a half years ago. Since this little girl was born in our home her and I have been drawn together. She is much too small to be a part of our breeding program so she will live out her days as my little therapy dog. Sitting with her in my lap brings my blood pressure down considerably.

Our dogs are our family members. When they have finished breeding they will live out their lives with us. We are just too attached to even think about parting with them. We have created our puppy application form to help us find perfect families with the same values as we do.

We are experts at what we do. It is our goal to create expert puppy owners. Weekly informational messages are sent to the families while their puppy grows. There are reports on the world wide web that cavapoos suffer from separation anxiety. We help you raise a puppy into a calm self secure wonderful dog that you can live with.

Please feel free to look over our website. If you wish please fill out our puppy application form. Once the form is completed clicking on send will provide you with an automatic message from us. This message contains our adoption fees and a little more information plus my phone number. If you wish to move forward in adopting one of our puppies or if you have any further questions please give me a call. My dogs are my favorite subject.

I look forward to reading your application form and perhaps hearing from you.

We wish you the very best

PLEASE BEWARE OF SCAMMERS, IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS!

About Us image
Also known as the Original Teddy Bear Dog, Cavapoos are graceful, sweet, and gentle, and make good companion dogs for all ages. We love Cavaliers, Poodles and Cavapoos because they are wonderful small house dogs with huge personalities that rarely bark.

It is our goal that each of our puppies are offered the best possible life. We are privileged to be welcomed guests in their lives. Unconditional love is the gift we receive from these wonderful creatures. I feel so much more relaxed and feel so happy when I am cuddling with one of our dogs. There must be some health benefits in doing that?

All of our parent dogs have been genetically tested for your piece of mind. Genetic diseases are so prominent now that most dogs are carriers for one disease or another. Being a carrier means the dog will never develop the disease, however, if two dogs are carriers of the same disease and then allowed to mate, one or more of their puppies have a high probability of developing that disease. If a breeder does not perform genetic testing adopting a puppy from them is literally playing roulette.

It has come to our attention that new puppy mills as well as backyard breeders have arisen since the beginning of COVID. These people can be recognized by their extremely low adoption fees and always having puppies available.. This tells you those breeder's main goal is to make a quick buck and nothing more. . ONLY ADOPT FROM A REPUTABLE BREEDER. In the long run you will be getting your money’s worth and a healthy happy puppy that will bring joy to your family’s lives for many years to come.

Our puppies receive first vaccinations and a complete health exam by our veterinarian before going to their new homes. A de-wormer is given at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. The last dose given just before going to their new homes.

Six people in our family ensure proper human socialization, and our new cat, Peachie, is always curious of new puppy litters as well as our other dogs. Safely, our very old cat, Fiona, passed away at age of 19. It was extremely hard to say good bye to her because she was with us for so long. Fiona's favorite pass time was sitting at the end of our drive way to greet the dogs and their owners passing by. She also loved to be vacuumed. She now sits on our mantle with her paw print and picture.

We litter train our puppies in non toxic wood pellets for three reasons.

  1. Clean up is so much easier and the wood pellets absorb odors.
  2.  New owners can keep their puppies safe indoors in their new homes until he or she receives the adequate amount of vaccinations against deadly viruses.  If a puppy contracts parvo, the virus will live in the puppies home for 7 years.  The result of a puppy contracting any virus is usually death.  On the rare occasion a puppy survives a disease, neurological damage will occur.  We strongly suggest keeping a puppy adopted from us litter trained until they have received their second vaccination.
  3. When house training begins this training will be so much easier because the puppies are already thinking about where they need to "go".
  4. Some of our very small parent dogs have very small puppies.  These puppies are too small to negotiate the sides of a litter box.  For these tiny ones we pee pad train on very high quality pee pads.
We utilize a device we made for the puppies to challenge their growing minds.  We call it our early agility center.   You can watch one of our past poodle puppies playing on it by clicking on this link.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0cWqtI0hOs  The toy attached near the top of the slide is placed there so the puppies will lose their balance trying to reach it and go down the slide. Yes, this causes them fear in the beginning but they soon learn that not all scary things will hurt them and the slide is fun.   The entire process of learning to play on this device causes the puppies to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. A shy and timid puppy becomes an outgoing brave puppy. This early learning causes permanent neural pathways to grow in the puppies' brains.   Our cavapoos are like no others.

We love our puppies very much and get to know each of their individual personalities. Yes we get very attached, but we wouldn't want it any other way. This is also why we insist our puppies go to approved homes only. We trust you understand. Serious inquiries only please. We must have a telephone conversation if You wish to move forward after filling out our application form.

Each family is carefully selected to adopt one of our puppies by the answers they give on our Puppy Application. The choice of a puppy is given in the order we select applicants.

All our puppies are born in our home, or in an emergency room at our Veterinarian Hospital. We encourage you to research other breeders and how they raise their puppies. If another breeder is unwilling or unable to show pictures of the parent dogs, we highly recommend not adopting their puppies. We do not wish to promote the suffering of parent dogs from puppy mills nor to perpetuate the use of precious little ones purely for profit.

We also provide lifetime breeder support. Please feel free to brag to us about your puppy any time and as often as you wish. Pictures and videos are most welcome and cherished.

Remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is!
First of all what is a puppy mill?  The answer is simple.  The proprietor usually has multiple puppies available at any given time.  This on its own should be a red flag.  They also advertise on popular sites that allow ads for puppy adoption.  Some of them are legitimate.  Others are not. How to tell if an advertiser is a puppy mill?  Check to see if that seller has other ads running on on sites.  Some of those adds might be to bad mouth legitimate breeders.  What reason would they do this?  To get rid of the competition of course.  They might say things to sway you from adopting from a specific breeder by using the first name of the owner and a website address. They might even say they experienced adopting a sick puppy from a specific breeder.  If they have pictures of the other breeders dogs then they copied those pictures without permission.  Check to see if they themselves are the owner or a registered breeder.  Registered breeders are allowed to place multiple adds in other locations for a lower fee.  Another red flag letting you know they are a puppy mill.  Steer clear of people who place ads like these.

The most popular way puppy mills sell their puppies is if you send them a question from an advertising site they answer you by claiming they are a friend of the breeder helping them to sell the puppies. In reality the puppy mill has hired a company to sell the puppies for them. This will assure that you will never meet the parent dogs or the original breeder.

How to tell if a breeder is not the real thing is if the parent dogs have not been genetically tested. This states the owners do not care whether their breeding dogs are carriers of the same genetic diseases or one or both parents have two copies of a genetic disease. This means the parents could be or are affected. Some of these diseases are very serious that could cause blindness, or spinal cord anomalies. Sadly, these diseases will not show up until months or years after you have adopted an afflicted puppy. Not only can this affected puppy incur hundreds to thousands of dollars in vet bills, some diseases can kill a puppy before its first birthday. These puppies also can come home with you carrying an extra present that can infest you and your children, worms, especially , coccidia is always present in a puppy mill, is extremely difficult to eradicate.

Our main goal is the health of our puppies and to challenge their growing brains. Cognitive development and physical abilities of our puppies under 8 weeks of age is amazing and a wonder to be a witness to.

Our reputation as ethical breeders makes us very proud. But just as the saying goes all good things must come to an end so will Van Isle Cavapoos. We will be offering puppies for only the next four years but still offer life time support to our puppy owners.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Please feel free to peruse the other pages on our website.

Always Remember, Beware of scammers, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is!

Bringing Home Puppy image
Congratulations on adopting a precious puppy from Van Isle Cavapoos.

If you have no experience in raising a puppy or need a refresher we are here to help.

We recommend your puppy be indoors until he or she has received a second vaccination. Parvovirus and Distemper are deadly and can live in the ground for up to seven years.

An exercise pen helps to ensure the safety of your new little one from contagious diseases as well as dangers that can be in a home. Let's face it, a puppy can not be watched every second. There are the electrical cords that can be chewed on, perhaps a flight of stairs to fall from, or even that priceless heirloom to use as a chew toy. Also, puppies need a lot of sleep in their first few months of life. A place to feel safe and to take a well needed break is what both puppy and humans need.

If given free run of your home your puppy will become confused as to where to alleviate him or her self. A water proof liner under the exercise pen will help to protect flooring from water bowl spillage or any rare accidents..

A toy or two will keep him/her occupied during nap times. A few days after the second vaccination has been administered your puppy can be immediately taken out doors upon waking and after eating to do his or her "business". You will find that our puppies catch on to this very quickly. We believe this is from the puppies having to think about where to "go" at a very young age.

Beware of scammers!  If something is too good to be to be true.  It probably is!

Adoption Process image
We announce the birth of the puppies when they are one week old. We do this to avoid any disappointment should a puppy be unable to thrive.  Each puppy will wear an identification collar of a particular colour because most of our litters are born with red or dark apricot colours. These collars go home with your puppy as a keep sake. Check these collars regularly to check

From the age of 1 week until your puppy gose home with you we offer a weekly informational update. These updates include valuable tips from how to prepare your home for the arrival of your fur baby to what to look for to keep your puppy healthy. These updates are sent to you and your fellow litter mate families by text message once a week on the weekday of your puppies birth.

Carefully chosen families choose their puppy at 7 weeks of age. We do this by utilizing an app called WhatsApp for the convenience of those living on the mainland and because my husband has a compromised immune system due to chemotherapy. This gives each family an individual opportunity to choose their puppy from a live video stream right from their living rooms, and everyone gets to meet me. The choosing. Day usually takes place on a Sunday around 10:00 am. To prevent over handling in larger litters, we provide two choosing opportunities on that Sunday. The first group of families will choose their puppy in the morning. The second group will choose in the afternoon.

A selection of items including a litter box and metal grate is included in our Puppy Pack when you come to our home to pick up your adopted puppy.

Please beware of scammers! If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! We will never accept a deposit with out having a telephone conversation with you first!
